Privacy policy

Version as of October 20, 2026

1. Collection and use of information

Devpartner company implements technical and organizational measures to ensure the security and confidentiality of personal data collected from users, in accordance with applicable legislation.

Users are invited to review the Privacy Policy and Personal Data Processing Charter, which forms an integral part of Synqro's terms of use.

Devpartner company has prepared this privacy policy to describe to Users the procedures regarding the collection, use, and disclosure of their personal data in the context of using the Synqro Application.

By accessing the site and/or Synqro Application and/or using any of the services offered, Users accept that their personal data will be collected and processed under the conditions and terms set out below.

Devpartner company commits to comply with current legislation regarding privacy protection concerning the processing of User's personal data, particularly the modified Law No. 78-17 of January 6, 1978, relating to information technology, files, and freedoms, and EU Regulation 2016/679 of the European Parliament and Council of April 27, 2016, concerning the protection of natural persons with regard to data processing.

This charter is an integral part of the terms of use and may be modified at any time to comply with any legislative, regulatory, jurisprudential, editorial, or technical developments.

Users must therefore refer to the latest version of Synqro's privacy policy and personal data processing charter before any use.

1.1 Identity of the Data Controller:

The Data Controller is Devpartner company.

Personal data is stored with hosts identified in the legal notices of the site and Application:

User personal data collected via the Application is hosted by MongoDB Atlas, in the European Union. Audio files (synthetic voices generated for lines, collaborative Italian rehearsal recordings and "My recordings") are hosted by UploadThing (Ping Labs, United States). Synqro's text-to-speech service is operated by Devpartner on a server rented from Hostinger, in Frankfurt (Germany).

Note: Payment-related data is entirely managed by Stripe company and does not transit through Devpartner company in any way.

1.2 Personal Data Collected:

To enable the use of the Synqro Application, Devpartner company may collect personal data relating to its Users.

Data directly transmitted by Users:

During registration and use of Synqro Application services, Users directly provide various data to Devpartner company.

This data includes: information necessary for subscription formalization and User account creation such as: email address and password to identify the User. If the User consents, a preference for receiving newsletters and informational emails about updates, product news, and mainly technical or service-related information may also be stored.

As part of collaborative Italian rehearsal, Users may record and upload audio files corresponding to their lines. These recordings are associated with the troupe, text, character, relevant segment, duration, file type, and technical metadata needed to play and delete them. They are used to let authorized troupe members rehearse with recorded voices. Audio files are hosted by UploadThing, which may involve a transfer to the United States. They are kept while the text and troupe exist and SYNQRO TROUPE access remains active, then deleted when the text or troupe is deleted, when an audio file is replaced or deleted, when an assignment change makes the audio unassigned, or 7 days after Premium TROUPE access ends. Users remain responsible for the recordings they submit.

My recordings (SYNQRO PRO): Users with SYNQRO PRO access may record in the Application, or import, audio files (their own voice or that of a person who consents) for the lines of their personal texts. These files are first kept on the device. They are also backed up online, within a 500 MB limit per account, so they can be restored after a phone change or a reinstall. The backup includes the audio file and the information needed to use it: text identifier, line concerned, character name, duration, size and format.

These recordings are attached to the User's account. They are never shared with a troupe, even when the text is shared. They are hosted by UploadThing with private access, which may involve a transfer to the United States, and can only be played through temporary links reserved for the User. When SYNQRO PRO access ends, the backup is kept for 90 days; a reminder email is sent 14 days before it is deleted. Copies on the device stay on the device. Users can delete one or all of their recordings at any time from Settings › My recordings. They remain responsible for third-party recordings they submit.

Synthetic voices: to voice the other characters' lines, the text of those lines is sent to the text-to-speech service operated by Devpartner on a server rented from Hostinger, in Frankfurt (Germany). No third party receives this text. The resulting audio files are stored with UploadThing, then downloaded to the device. They are deleted with the text.

Microphone and speech recognition: the microphone is only used when the User asks for it: recording a line (collaborative Italian rehearsal, My recordings) or playing "Your line". In this game, speech recognition is provided by the phone's service (Apple on iOS, Google on Android). Depending on the device, it may send the audio to that provider, which processes it under its own privacy policy. Synqro keeps neither the audio nor the transcript of this game, apart from the game score.

Photo import: when the User imports a text by photographing its pages, the images are sent to our servers, then to the OCR.space service (a9t9 software GmbH, Germany), which extracts the text. Images are not kept after extraction.

Profile photo: Users may add a profile photo, visible to the members of their troupes. Otherwise, an avatar is generated from their username by the DiceBear service (api.dicebear.com): only the username is sent to it.

Users are informed, in the personal data collection form, of whether the collection of said data is mandatory or optional.

If mandatory data fields are not provided, Devpartner company cannot process the registration and ensure service delivery to the User.

Data collected during Synqro Application use:

During the use of Synqro Application, Devpartner company collects data relating to all personal data voluntarily provided by Users in the context of Application Use, such as staging notes, personal texts, etc.

Usage data may be collected with the User's consent. It helps understand how the Application is used and improve it, and it is not shared with any third party. User consent: by accepting this policy, the User accepts the collection of this usage data. They can refuse it at any time from Settings › Privacy.

Users may also choose to receive newsletters and informational emails about updates, product news, and mainly technical or service-related information. This consent is optional and can be withdrawn at any time from Settings › Privacy.

Here is the list of usage data collected after the User's consent:

  • Rehearsal methods and games used, and number of uses
  • Import methods used
  • Time spent using methods
  • Average game scores
  • Time and date of last connection

Minimal measurements needed for the service: regardless of this consent, and without sharing them with third parties, Synqro also measures, on the basis of its legitimate interest in running and improving the service:

  • the steps of sign-up and of the home screen, to fix blocking points;
  • the display of offers and subscription pages;
  • the display of internal banners and clicks on them.

These measurements are attached to the account and are used only to run and improve the service. Users can object to them by writing to support@synqro.app.

Suspicious and Abusive Behavior: We reserve the right to suspend or permanently ban any account involved in suspicious or abusive activities. This includes, but is not limited to, fraud attempts, identity theft, automated script usage, spamming, or any action that compromises the integrity and security of our platform and its users. Any violation of these rules may result in immediate suspension and, if necessary, appropriate legal action.

Data collected during commercial relationship:

When subscribing to Synqro Application, Devpartner company collects various data for monitoring the commercial relationship and billing: subscription type, subscribed rate, any discount codes used, and subscription start and end dates.

At the user's request, additional information necessary for billing may be requested (billing name and address). These will be transmitted to the payment provider Stripe without retention.

Online payment data:

Devpartner company neither manages nor has access to any information regarding user payments (credit card numbers). Devpartner company uses Stripe company for user payments.

Stripe's privacy policy is accessible at: https://stripe.com/fr/privacy

The provider collects, during payment, Personal Data concerning payment methods (credit card number, card expiration date, security code, the latter not being stored, etc.).

Customer service interaction data:

In case of interaction with Customer service, they may collect certain data to process your request.

This includes data allowing Customer service to identify the User (email used for platform use), date, time, and reason for your request, content of exchanges with Customer service, additional data necessary for request processing.

Data automatically collected for proper application functioning:

  • Language
  • Connection information
  • The device's notification identifier, if the User allows notifications. It is used only to send troupe and service notifications, goes through Expo's services (United States), then Apple (APNs) or Google (Firebase Cloud Messaging), and is removed at sign-out.
  • Display and accessibility preferences (line size and font, contrast, animations, vibrations), kept on the device only.

Data Collected During the Invitation of a Person: To invite another person to join the platform, the invitee's email address is entered directly by the user sending the invitation. These invitations are sent under the responsibility of the sender, with SYNQRO acting solely as a technical intermediary. It is recommended to ensure that the invitee has agreed to receive this invitation.

The invitee's email address is temporarily retained for purely technical reasons: to verify that any potential registration originates from an invitation, thus rewarding the sender of the invitation, and to prevent abuse.

Additionally:

Invitees' email addresses are not used for any other purposes, including marketing. Email addresses are deleted if no registration occurs within 2 months. Invitees can request the deletion of their information by contacting our support team at support@synqro.app. SYNQRO is committed to complying with applicable data protection laws and encourages users to use this feature respectfully.

Data collected for referral programs and contests: SYNQRO may process the referrer's identifier, the referred user's identifier, the code used, signup, email verification, activation and qualification dates, rules acceptance, draw entries, earned discounts, redemption status and audit elements needed to prevent fraud.

This data is used to attribute referrals, calculate entries and discounts, perform the draw, contact the winner, award the prize, handle complaints and prevent abuse. Referred users' personal data is not shown to the referrer, except anonymized status information.

  • Conduct direct email communications with users who have consented to receive information about product progress, updates, and technical or service-related information

1.4 Data Recipients:

Personal data is intended for Devpartner company entities and authorized persons who need it for the purposes of processing.

It is also sent, strictly as needed, to the following technical processors:

  • MongoDB Atlas: database hosting, in the European Union;
  • UploadThing (Ping Labs): audio file storage, in the United States;
  • Hostinger: text-to-speech server, in Frankfurt (Germany);
  • Stripe: payments and subscriptions, in the European Union and the United States;
  • Expo, Apple and Google: notification delivery, in the United States;

Troupe members see the other members' username, profile photo and role. Only troupe managers see email addresses.

1.5 Default Import and Text Detection by Synqro

When using the standard import feature, the user declares that they hold the necessary rights to the imported text or have obtained explicit authorization from the rights holder. By uploading a file, the user guarantees that they have the right to use, reproduce, and process the submitted content.

For PDF and TXT files, text detection and extraction are carried out by an algorithm developed exclusively by Synqro (Devpartner), with no third-party services involved. For photo import, character recognition is handled by the OCR.space service (see section 1.2). Synqro implements technical means to optimize recognition and import accuracy, but provides no guarantee regarding the correctness, completeness, or consistent success of text detection.

Some file formats—particularly poorly structured PDFs, low-quality scans, files containing images instead of encoded text, or documents with unusual fonts or encoding—may significantly reduce detection accuracy and lead to partial or incorrect extraction. Synqro cannot be held responsible for import errors caused by low-quality or improperly formatted user files.

If the default import fails, the user may click “I have a problem” to request support. When the user gives explicit consent, they may also send their PDF or TXT file to SYNQRO support to investigate the issue and improve extraction. The file is stored temporarily on SYNQRO infrastructure in France, is available only to authorised staff, is not shared with third parties, and is deleted no later than 30 days after it is sent.

1.6 Advertising in the Application

SYNQRO may display internal advertisements, managed directly by Devpartner, to help maintain free access to some features while funding the development of the service.

Advertising Format Used

  • Banner: a small internal ad shown at the bottom of the screen to users of the free version, without blocking usage, with a close button to hide it.

SYNQRO shows no full-screen ads, no rewarded ads and no ads integrated into content.

Who Processes Advertising-Related Data?

Internal advertisements are managed by Devpartner. Data used for delivery and measurement remains tied to the SYNQRO service and is not sent to a third-party advertising network.

Retention and Purposes

Data used to deliver and measure internal advertisements (impressions, clicks and performance) is used only for:

  1. Displaying and measuring internal advertisements.
  2. Improving the relevance and operation of the internal advertising system.
  3. Ensuring security and limiting abuse.

Your Rights and Contact

You can exercise your rights of access, rectification, deletion, or objection by contacting us at support@synqro.app.

The privacy settings in Settings › Privacy allow you to manage internal SYNQRO usage-data collection as well as SYNQRO newsletters and informational emails.

2. Data sharing

We neither sell nor rent any personal data. Data is only sent to the processors listed in section 1.4, for the sole needs of the service, and to authorities when required by law.

3. Access and security of data

Users can access, update or delete their personal information at any time:

  • from the Application's Settings (password, profile photo, consents, My recordings);
  • by writing to support@synqro.app, in particular to change the account's email address.

Deleting the account, from Settings › Account, immediately erases the account and its data, except billing data that the law requires us to keep.

Robust security measures protect user data: encrypted connections, temporary links for private audio files, access restricted to authorized persons.

4. Notification of changes

If this policy changes significantly, Users are informed in the Application and must accept the new version to keep using the service. The date of the current version is shown at the top of the document.

5. Compliance with regulations

We are committed to complying with all applicable data protection regulations, such as the General Data Protection Regulation (GDPR) of the European Union and other similar laws.

6. Retention periods

  • Account, texts and related data: while the account is active; deleted immediately when the account is deleted.
  • Collaborative Italian rehearsal audio: see section 1.2 (at most 7 days after SYNQRO TROUPE ends).
  • My recordings: 90 days after SYNQRO PRO ends.
  • File sent to support: 30 days at most.
  • Invited email addresses: 2 months without sign-up.
  • Notification identifier: until sign-out, or until the device can no longer be reached.
  • Photo import images: not kept after the text is extracted.
  • Billing data: 10 years, under accounting obligations.

7. Complaints

Users may lodge a complaint with the French data protection authority (CNIL, www.cnil.fr) if they believe their rights are not respected.
